CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH A PRECEDENT FOR A PRENUP?

By Steve Benmor | - July 7, 2026

Steve Benmor is a recognized divorce lawyer, family mediator, arbitrator, speaker, writer and educator. Mr. Benmor has worked as lead counsel in many divorce trials, held many leadership positions in the legal community and has been regularly interviewed on television, radio and in newspapers as an expert in Family Law.

The client’s name is Taylor. She seems nice. Her fiancé is Travis.

I’ve done a conflicts check. No issues.

Taylor says she’s worth about $2 billion. Personally, a lot of my clients exaggerate. She says that she earns her income from touring, earning about $800 million/yr and her song catalogue is worth $600 million. Although I haven’t seen her business valuation yet, I’m going to refer her to one of my go-to CBV’s, either Vivian Alterman, Paul Mandel or Matthew Krofchick. I’m sure they will set her straight. She also says she has some real estate – worth about $110 million. She was surprised when I told her the price probably went down since she bought it. Anyway, we usually use Jim Parthenis who will sort this out, because I don’t want the Prenup to be set aside for insufficient financial disclosure. Strangely, in passing, she mentioned that she also has a private jet worth $23 million. There’s no way. Anyway, I told her to get me the Bluebook value for her 13.1.

Before I started drafting her Prenup, I wanted to know a little bit about her fiancé’s finances. Poor guy, he is small potatoes compared to her. She says Travis only makes $111 million/yr and his net worth is a paltry 4% of hers – at $70 million. Unlike his future wife, who travels in a jet, he drives a car – a $400,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom. Talk about marrying down.

IMO Travis is lucky to be marrying my client and so I’m pretty sure he’ll sign anything. I gave her a list of 5 lawyers that she could pass to him for ILA.

Anyhow, if anybody has either a really good precedent or some good clauses for a Prenup, please let me know.

I’ve got to get this done pronto because they’re getting married fairly soon and they’re putting a lot of pressure on me to get it done before the wedding – which is at some little venue called Madison Square Gardens.
