Gone are the days where dating resulted from meeting that special person at work or at school, or family and friends setting people up.  In the new millennium, most people, young and old, are finding love through online dating sites. Dating apps today involve a very rigorous screening technique to maximize the likelihood of a suitable match. Whether it be geography, religion, interests or values, dating apps facilitate introductions between people who may have never otherwise met. In the quest to find the suitable match, dating apps have affected divorce.

So just as the internet is a powerful conduit through which people meet, date and marry, so too. The internet has become a valuable tool used to end relationships. All over the world, governments and private businesses have created portals and apps to facilitate divorce online. Divorcing couples can become fully informed about their legal rights and options through websites, videos and apps. They can then use online dispute resolution tools to assist them in overcoming disagreements.

Online divorce forms are available to streamline divorce, often at an extremely low cost and without even leaving home to attend a courthouse or lawyer’s office.

Just the same as the internet has transformed dating, so too it has revolutionized the process of divorce.
