After she completed her J.D at Queen’s Law School, Yashika has focused her practice of law to family law only because of her passion for helping parents, spouses and children facing such a critical milestone in their lives.
Before attending law school, Yashika completed a Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science and History and then a Master of Arts in History from the University of Ottawa. Her strong academic and professional background inform her thoughtful, client-focused approach to legal problem-solving.
Before joining Benmor Family Law Group, Yashika was employed at the Family Responsibility Office where she gained valuable insight into the enforcement of support orders in Ontario. She later articled at the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, before moving into the private practice of matrimonial law.
Yashika knows that every family is different and tries to guide clients through the legal process with compassion and understanding. Her patience, empathy, practical and resolution-oriented outcomes help her clients navigate separation efficiently.
She manages a high-volume caseload, representing clients at various levels of court, and preparing pleadings, motions, and settlement materials.
Outside her professional work, Yashika is passionate about history, horror books, and powerlifting, having completed in local tournaments across the province. Yashika speaks conversational Hindi and Urdu.
